Willow Stool is the ottoman of a lounge chair and ottoman set, conceived as a material study and prototype for a forthcoming bentwood lounge chair. Crafted entirely from natural willow, the rods are softened with steam, shaped in bending jigs and handwoven to form the structure. The project explores the material’s flexibility, tactility and structural potential through a contemporary interpretation of traditional willow craftsmanship.
